Griffin Club Los Angeles
In 1926, Merv Griffin’s uncle, Elmer, opened the Palomar Tennis Club, making it one of the oldest private clubs in the city. Located on four acres in the middle of a residential area, the club became a special gathering place for many of Hollywood’s most famous actors of the time, including Humphrey Bogart, Errol Flynn and Joan Bennett. When the current owners acquired the property in 2015, they changed the name and began a $20 million dollar renovation to bring the building and grounds into the 21st century.
